Birdwall
Het concept
The bird wall is a parametric tool that transforms façades into bird-friendly habitats.
Based on ecological data, the system generates proposals for the optimal placement of nesting boxes within a façade, taking into account the specific needs of different bird species.
In this way, it creates a building that is not only functional, but also actively contributes to biodiversity in the built environment.
Biodiversity on the facade
Depending on the local ecology, the system can easily be extended to other species and habitats.
This enables a flexible design approach in which architecture and ecology come together.
How does it work?
An ecologist identifies which species in a given area require nesting opportunities.
The tool then translates this ecological data into a proposal for integrating nesting spaces into the façade, tailored to the characteristics and preferences of the different species.
