About Natuurkaatsen
Natuurkaatsen invites you to look more closely and reconnect with the place you are in. By slowing down, experiencing your surroundings more consciously, and sharing your observations with others, new perspectives emerge. This creates space to reflect on how we can give nature a place in the choices we make.
The mirrors of Natuurkaatsen are inspired by the lakes of Brabant and play with reflection. Like water, they allow you to see your surroundings in a different way.
You can share your observations, ideas, wishes, and reflections on the large map of Brabant. You can draw or write — anything goes. Each day, the collection of stories and conversations grows.
Natuurkaatsen can also be experienced through a workshop. Together with a group, you set out to explore a place. Guided by questions and small assignments, you look at your surroundings from a different perspective and engage in conversation with one another. This allows you to explore what nature-inclusive thinking can mean and how nature can be considered in the choices you make.

Natuurkaatsen was developed by designer Iris Bekkers of Operatie Regeneratie in response to an open call by the Province of Noord-Brabant and Stichting KOP. During the development of the project, Iris received guidance from Stichting KOP.

Hello, nature lover!
A little introduction: my name is Iris. I am a designer and the founder of my design studio, Operatie Regeneratie. In my work, I use design to strengthen the connection between people and nature.
Natuurkaatsen
During this workshop, you will set out to explore a park together with a small group. You will receive a specially designed handheld mirror with short questions engraved along its rim, inviting you to look at your surroundings in a different way.
Afterwards, we will come together to share our observations and discoveries and explore what we can learn from one another.
The aim? To leave the workshop seeing your surroundings through fresh eyes and feeling more connected to nature and to each other.
What participants say
Previous participants have shared the following reflections:
“I found it a fun and surprising experience!”
“The conversation with the group felt very connecting.”
“The sense of calm that came from focusing on details in nature stayed with me.”
When?
